This role sits within the Principal Investments team and supports the full lifecycle of investment activity-from onboarding and monitoring to strategic exit execution. The successful candidate will contribute to value creation, regulatory compliance, and high-quality reporting and analysis for internal and external stakeholders.Key ResponsibilitiesPortfolio Monitoring and Reporting
- Monitor and track performance of portfolio investments.
- Prepare periodic valuations and maintain accurate accounting records.
- Liaise with external auditors and prepare internal reports for senior stakeholders, including the Investment Committee.
- Assist with regulatory reporting and compliance processes.
- Contribute to stress testing and scenario analysis.
- Lead onboarding for investment partners and clients, ensuring documentation and due diligence are complete.
- Collaborate with Financial Crime and Compliance teams to uphold regulatory standards and mitigate risk.
- Identify and evaluate exit opportunities through market research and strategic analysis.
- Support disposal transactions, including drafting term sheets, coordinating approvals, and assisting in negotiations.
- Maintain a proactive approach to exit planning aligned with portfolio objectives.
- Conduct financial analysis of portfolio companies and interpret performance metrics.
- Assist in developing value creation strategies, including operational improvements and strategic initiatives.
- Prepare and present analytical reports and dashboards to internal stakeholders.
- Facilitate communication with portfolio company stakeholders, including board meetings and investor updates.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners.
- Support the desk head across various workstreams, including equity risk assessments and strategic reviews.
- Collaborate with other business units to ensure cohesive investment oversight and risk management.
- Experience in banking, investment analysis, or corporate finance.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including financial modelling proficiency.
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Sound judgement and effective risk management.
- Integrity and a client-centric approach aligned with treating customers fairly.
- Proactive and self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership.
- Comfortable working in a small team and contributing to legacy wind-down mandates.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-management skills.
- Prior experience in private equity, principal investing, or strategic corporate finance is highly advantageous.
