Job Category: INSPECTIONSJob Description:Factory Inspections are performed at the manufacturing locations to monitor client continued compliance. It is the Field Inspector's role to ensure clients are continuingly meeting their responsibilities to ensure listed products are manufactured in compliance with the component, constructional detail and applicable safety standards. Follow-up Service inspections are used to provide Intertek with assurance our clients are using Intertek certification marks properly.Required skills and experience:
  • Good IT literacy skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Confidence to visit new clients regularly
  • Attention to detail
  • Experience in manufacturing (end of line testing or similar)
  • Process driven and enthusiastic about quality
  • Willingness to travel (mainly UK but some international travel expected)
  • Full UK Driver's licence
  • Experience of ISO 9001 or 17020 and certification would desirable but not essential
  • Experience in auditing against the following schemes: UKCA, CE, ISO 17020 and/or ISO 9001, would be beneficial but not essential.
ABOUT YOUThe Factory Inspector perform ongoing audits of a manufacturer's quality control programs and ensure the required manufacturing and production line testing is being conducted and recorded as prescribed in the Listing Report for a given product.Key activities:
  • Scheduling and conducting of factory inspections at various manufactures premises (mainly UK but some internationally).
  • Inspection and auditing of products and production lines.
  • Report writing.
  • Involvement in UKAS and similar accreditor audits.
  • Training of other inspectors as required.
