Role: History TeacherLocation: PitstoneFull TimeStart: Easter 2024Are you passionate about shaping young minds and instilling a love for history? Do you possess a deep understanding of historical events and the ability to make them come alive in the classroom? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic History Teacher to join a school who recently received “Outstanding” from Ofsted. As a History Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in educating and inspiring students to appreciate the richness of the past and its relevance to the present.Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans that align with the curriculum standards and objectives
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students feel encouraged to participate and explore historical concepts
  • Utilise a variety of teaching methods, resources, and technology to enhance student understanding and retention
  • Assess student progress through regular evaluations, assignments, and examinations
  • Provide constructive feedback to students and collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching strategies and curriculum development
  • Actively participate in school events, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development activities
Qualifications:
  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status), Bachelor's degree in Education, History, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
  • Proven experience teaching history at Secondary school level
  • Strong knowledge of historical content, pedagogical approaches, and instructional best practices
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
