Our client, a leading independently owned freight company specialising in European logistics and road freight solutions is currently looking for a European Freight Forwarder to join their team based in Essex. Some hybrid working hours will be available following completion of the probation period.As the European Freight Forwarder, you will be involved in daily operations within markets and dealing with Import and Export services between the UK and countries such as France, Spain, Italy, Poland, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Austria Switzerland, Czech Republic and Hungary.You will be planning, organising, directing, and help run day-to-day operations to exceed customers' expectations. You will also be responsible for negotiating rates with customer as well as transportation costs of suppliers.European Freight Forwarder responsibilities:
  • Maintain and improve working relationships with both customers and suppliers
  • Monitoring transport rates, markets, and looking after the job from start to finish
  • Sub-contracting haulage requirements, managing transportation bookings, and quotations
  • Increase productivity, whilst minimising unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards
We are keen to speak with candidates who have 3-5 years' experience in both Imports and Exports, as well as groupage knowledge and an understanding of customs procedures.You will need to have technical expertise and knowledge of rates, customers, and suppliers within the European road freight sector.Experience of the European Freight Forwarder:
  • Strong familiarity of the industry
  • Computer literacy
  • Able to work as part of a team as well as under own initiative
  • Additional - European language would be advantageous, however is not essential
