Together, we are embarking on a journey where each and every one of us, individually and collectively, welcomes and celebrates individual differences.The role will involve undertaking visits to customers’ sites in order to provide breakdown repair, servicing, planned preventative maintenance, calibration contracts and installation/commissioning etc., on a wide variety ABB (Measurement & Analytics) products. You may be required to provide 24x7 service cover on a rota basis and also factory based workshop repairs. You should be used to dealing with clients on a daily basis. You must be able to work under your own initiative and as part of a team. The successful candidate will be required to travel throughout the UK and occasionally overseas. Overnight stays away from home will be required. Additional responsibilities include the promotion of ABB Service Products, ABB Ability digital Solutions and other support offerings. It is important to note that as the strategy for Measurement & Analytics service develops, this role may also evolve to meet the changing needs of the business and our customers.Your responsibilities
  • To deliver field-based service offerings on customer’s premises, focussing mainly (although not exclusively) on ABB Measurement & Analytics Flow & Instrumentation product lines.
  • Develop and maintain customer relationships and satisfaction with field- based service solutions.
  • Support the development and delivery of ABB Ability™ Digital Service Solutions, working with product managers and service product managers as required. Assist with taking these innovative solutions to market.
  • Work with aftersales support team to develop service solutions and training material for delivery to partners and customers alike.
  • Responsible for maintaining and delivering high standards of Health & Safety and exceeding customers’ safe-working expectations.
  • Regular customer liaison and problem solving.
  • Working as part of the service team to deliver on-site and workshop based service, repair, calibration and advanced digital solutions.
  • Working closely with key stakeholders, including our sales team to develop new strategies and strengthen relationships whilst helping identify opportunities for new product sales and service opportunities.
Your background
  • Preferably qualified to ONC/HNC level in instrumentation, measurement control / equivalent, or have served a recognised apprenticeship in a relevant discipline.
  • Good PC skills, and familiar with MS Office suite of software.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and Interpersonal Skills.
  • A flexible approach to working and good problem solving skills are essential.
  • Instrumentation experience having worked in one of the following industries - Water/Power Utilities, Food & Beverage, Chemical & Pharmaceutical, Oil & Gas is preferred.
  • Full valid UK driving licence essential.
