We’re currently seeking enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisors to work across a range of secondary schools in the Wakefield area.This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking to gain valuable school-based experience, whether you’re a recent graduate, a qualified teacher looking for flexible work, or someone with a strong interest in education.Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise classes during teacher absences across various subjects
- Ensure pupils remain on task and follow the school’s behavioural expectations
- Deliver pre-prepared lessons and manage classroom activity effectively
- Provide feedback on pupil progress and classroom issues where necessary
- Foster a safe and positive learning environment for all students
- Previous experience working with young people (education, coaching, youth work, tutoring, etc.) would be a plus but if dealt with children before and wants to explore new opportunities
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- A calm, professional, and adaptable approach
- Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent); a degree is highly desirable
- A valid DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply for one
