They are currently looking for a Mechanical Draughtsperson to join their team based in South Tyneside on a permanent basis.This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Design Engineer who is proficient in mechanical design and technical drawings.The CultureThis is a business who are passionate about offering progression opportunities and offering personal development at all levels.You will be office based, carrying out a 37-hour working week.The Mechanical Draughtsperson RoleAs Mechanical Draughtsperson, you will be responsible for preparing bearing designs, producing and manage models and engineering drawings within the company’s computer aided design (CAD) systems as well as associated documentation in support of customer contracts.Duties include:Create conceptual design work in support of bearing tenders, and detail design work for contracts and new product developmentPrepare lists of parts required for bearing designsPerform bearing performance calculations using specific softwarePerform structural strength of materials calculations to support bearing designsParticipate in design review meetingsAbout the successful Mechanical DraughtspersonAs Mechanical Draughtsperson, you will have a strong background in mechanical design with the ability to demonstrate knowledge of strength of materials.Other requirements include:You will be educated to HNC level or equivalent in mechanical engineeringExperience of designing castings, fabrications and precision machined, close-tolerance, turned and milled components.Excellent 3D CAD modelling and 2D technical drawing skills.Thank you for your application!We are currently recruiting for a wide range of roles within the Engineering & Manufacturing sectors.
