
Pharmacy Support Worker

- To provide support services to the Pharmacy department including the ordering, receipt, storage and supply of pharmaceuticals and other stock items, and dispensing individual patient prescriptions.
- To participate as an active member of specific ward / unit / clinical teams, and support the safe and effective use of medicines.
- To contribute to the pharmacy service to specific wards / units / clinical teams.
- To dispense and supply medication from our satellite pharmacies under the supervision of a registered pharmacy professional.
- To work alongside our clinical pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to provide integrated pharmaceutical care for service users in the Trust to ensure safe, appropriate and cost effective use of medicines.
- Good standard of general education (Five GCSEs or equivalent, including Maths and English at Grade C (4/5) or above)
- NVQ or equivalent in Pharmacy Services (Or Willing to work towards)
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Experience of Working within a Pharmacy Environment
- Experience of working with Standard Operating Procedures
- Self-Motivated and able to work alone or as part of a team
- Understanding of Stock Rotation
- Fundamental IT Skills (Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel & Teams)
- An understanding of Pharmacy and its role within the Health Service
- Knowledge & Understanding of Medicines
- Knowledge of Pharmacy Dispensing Programmes
- A positive and responsible approach to work
- Ability to manoeuvre and distribute heavy loads
- Ability to work within a refrigerated environment with Vaccines
- Able to work to deadlines and time pressures
- Driving License, Access to own Vehicle and able to travel throughout the EPUT region
- Methodical in Approach with attention to detail
- Understands and Adheres to the Trust Values
- Demonstrates Ability to meet set targets
