Carmichael UK are recruiting for an experienced Section Engineer to join a Tier 1 main contractor delivering complex civil engineering works on the prestigious HS2 project.This is an exciting opportunity to work on tunnelling, structural and RC frame packages across one of the UK’s largest infrastructure projects, supporting the delivery of major elements that will shape the country’s future transport network.The RoleAs a Section Engineer, you’ll play a key role in managing technical delivery, quality assurance, and site coordination. Working closely with Sub Agents, Site Engineers, and the wider project team, you’ll ensure that packages are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest standards.Key responsibilities include:Overseeing the delivery of tunnelling, RC frame, and structures packagesManaging, mentoring, and supporting Site EngineersProducing and reviewing ITPs, RAMS, and QA documentationOverseeing setting out activities and ensuring as-built records are accurateCoordinating with subcontractors, design teams, and client representativesDriving health, safety, and environmental compliance on siteMonitoring programme progress and reporting to senior managementAbout YouWe’re looking for someone with:Proven experience on tunnelling, RC frame, or major structures projectsA civil engineering qualification (HNC/Degree preferred)Experience working with a Tier 1 contractor on large-scale infrastructure schemesStrong knowledge of QA processes and technical documentationProficiency in AutoCAD, GPS, and total station equipmentValid CSCS card and right to work in the UK
