Ashton Recruitment require a Lighting Projects Coordinator for our Northern Irish based clientPosition: Lighting Projects CoordinatorLocation: United KingdomWork Arrangement: Primarily home-based, with flexibility to travel to Belfast as required.Duration: PermanentPay Rate: Depending on ExperienceMy client is a rapidly expanding provider of lighting project solutions, working in partnership with electrical contractors, M&E consultants, architects, and multi-site end-user clients across the UK and Ireland. They are seeking a Lighting Projects Coordinator to play a pivotal role in delivering technically robust and commercially competitive lighting proposals.The successful candidate will take briefs from the sales team and manage the full technical workflow – including lighting design coordination, emergency lighting compliance, product selection, supplier engagement, and preparation of quotation packs. This role is central to ensuring projects are won while allowing the sales team to remain focused on business development.The ideal candidate will combine commercial awareness with a strong technical mindset, bringing structure and accuracy to complex project requirements. Highly organised and detail-oriented, they will be comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously, juggling supplier communications, technical drawings, and spreadsheets. This is a key support role for the business, keeping projects on track and enabling the sales team to achieve continued success.Duties will include:
  • Review project briefs and interpret lighting requirements (lux levels, emergency, aesthetics, etc.)
  • Coordinate lighting designs using in-house tools or external designers (e.g., Dialux/Relux)
  • Liaise with suppliers to source pricing, product options, and lead times
  • Ensure emergency lighting designs are compliant with standards (e.g., IS 3217 / BS 5266)
  • Prepare detailed quote packs including:
  • Quotation document
  • Luminaire schedule
  • Datasheet folder
  • Value Engineering (VE) options where required
  • Maintain organised project folders and version control
  • Communicate with sales to clarify project scope and priorities
  • Track progress of live quotations and support follow-up activities
Essential Criteria:
  • Previous experience in lighting and electrical
  • Good understanding of commercial lighting and emergency lighting compliance
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills
  • Ability to read basic architectural / M&E drawings
  • Excellent communication and coordination ability (internal and external)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PDF tools
Desirable:
  • Experience using lighting design software (Dialux, Relux, Lighting Reality)
  • Familiarity with emergency lighting standards (IS3217, BS5266)
  • Experience in preparing commercial quotes or tenders
  • Background in electrical engineering, lighting, or project coordination
