At East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust, we are committed to delivering excellent patient care and exploring opportunities for continuous service delivery improvements.We are now looking to recruit experienced operational and command focussed leader to the team at Boston.The role will be accountable to the Head of Operations, but also forms key relationships with the area management teams Divisional Senior managers , Station Managers and Divisional Senior Clinical Leaders) and the Regional Operations Manager team.This advert is for a 12 month secondment (internal) / Fixed Term Contract (External)Main duties of the jobAs a Duty Commander you will be responsible for establishing and embedding a supportive, motivational and compassionate leadership culture across the station based operational teams. This is a key leadership role in supporting EMAS to deliver its vision and values.The Duty Commander will provide a daily 24/7 tactical command and incident response role and will be responsible for the overall (on scene) tactical command, coordination and performance of the Division.   • Operational or Tactical Command qualification, or will complete Tactical level within 12 months of commencement in role.
  • On-going CPD around National Occupational Standards Major Incident Management
  • Appropriate level registered clinical qualification, e.g. Paramedic, ECP and ability to act as a first responder
  • Management diploma or equivalent demonstrable experience
ExperienceEssential
  • Minimum of 2 years supervising/managing a team
  • Working on own initiative to deliver Trust and national polices and guidelines
  • Full driving licence including the provision of emergency driving
