Contract FPGA Engineer - DV ClearedCambridgeshire | Hybrid12-Month Contract (Extensions Expected)£70-£85 per hour | Outside IR35iO Associates are partnered with a fast-growing Defence & Security Technology consultancy at the forefront of developing cutting-edge solutions to safeguard the UK from evolving cyber and technological threats.We're seeking a DV Cleared FPGA Engineer to play a key role in the design, development, and delivery of complex FPGA-based systems. This is an initial 12-month contract, with long-term extensions highly likely given the volume of upcoming projects.What you'll be doing
  • Designing and implementing FPGA solutions for high-assurance systems
  • Working with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver robust, secure hardware platforms
  • Using industry-leading toolchains (Xilinx Vivado, Intel Quartus, or similar)
  • Verifying, testing, and debugging designs to meet stringent performance and security requirements
  • Contributing to innovative R&D projects that directly impact UK national security
Skills & experience required
  • Strong FPGA design experience (VHDL / Verilog)
  • Experience with Vivado, Quartus, or equivalent FPGA toolchains
  • Solid understanding of digital design principles, simulation, and verification
  • Background in defence, aerospace, or other safety/mission-critical industries is desirable
  • Current DV Clearance (essential)
