We are seeking to recruit an ophthalmic technician to work in a split role within our busy Paediatric & Strabismus department. We are looking for someone who would be able to take on the challenges of working in a busy, high volume clinical environment and has excellent communication skills.The ophthalmic technician role provides assessment and support to patients who are attending their Outpatient appointment either in Paediatric & Strabismus service under the supervision of the nursing team. Experience of working within an ophthalmic healthcare setting is preferred along with a positive attitude and willingness to take on new challenges.Main duties of the jobParticipate in the delivery of patient centred care, maintaining a compassionate and professional attitude at all times.Contribute to the ward/clinic/department/organisation.Support senior staff in the provision of a caring and safe environment.Demonstrate competence in generic and specialist skills as required from Appendix 1 following the completion of the appropriate training and education.
