The Health Care Assistant plays an integral role within the Practice Nurse Team, as well as supporting the wider clinical teams, in the delivery of nursing services. They work as part of the Practice's multidisciplinary team, delivering care within their scope of practice, to our patient population. The Health Care Assistant will deliver and assist clinical staff with the provision of treatment, preventative care, health promotion and patient education.Main duties of the jobThe main duties of the Health Care Assistant will include phlebotomy, assessing and the monitoring of patients with longterm conditions and promoting general health and well- being. They will oversee the processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/Nurses and vaccinate as part of the yearly flu vaccination programme. The Clinical team includes GPs, an ANP, Practice Nurses, Health Care Assistants, Physiotherapist, Mental Health Coach and Practitioner and Social Prescribers, who are all supported by a comprehensive administrative team.
