Job Title: Electronics Design Engineer – Product Development & InnovationAre you an experienced Electronics Design Engineer looking for a diverse and rewarding role? Join a leading UK-based technology solutions provider, known for delivering cutting-edge design and manufacturing services across industries such as Automotive, Clean Energy, Defence & Aerospace, Medical, and more.This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a wide range of challenging and innovative projects, collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team of Mechanical, PCB, Software, and Electronic Engineers. You’ll be involved in every stage of the product lifecycle—from initial customer contact and concept development to design and manufacture.Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and support electronic products for major OEMs across multiple sectors.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, reports, and design files.
  • Travel to the electronics lab in Bedfordshire as needed for hardware development and issue resolution (remote work supported).
About You:
  • Degree (or equivalent) in Electronic Engineering or related discipline.
  • Extensive experience in electronics hardware design from concept to production.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with broad knowledge of electronic technologies.
  • Excellent communication skills, both technical and non-technical.
  • Self-motivated, methodical, and adaptable to different project types and client expectations.
Essential Skills:
  • Commercial experience in electronics design.
  • Mixed analogue and digital design with microcontrollers.
  • Schematic capture using Altium.
  • Structured design approach and technical documentation skills.
  • FMEA, validation, and approvals experience.
  • Project time management.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Eligible for SC Clearance.
Desirable Skills:
  • Switched mode power supply design.
  • Experience with microprocessors (8–64 bit).
  • Understanding of EMC design requirements.
  • Embedded programming experience or awareness.
  • Version control systems.
  • Communication protocols: CAN, Ethernet, RS485, USB, CAN/Ethernet diagnostics.
