Job Description:Robert Half is partnering with a pro-active, forward-thinking firm in Newquay to recruit for an Accountant / Client Manager on a full-time and permanent basis.About the RoleThis position offers the opportunity to manage a diverse portfolio of clients including private individuals, sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies. You'll be part of a supportive team of around 20 professionals who are experienced, approachable, and committed to delivering a high standard of service. Ongoing training and development is provided through a mix of online learning and hands-on experience.Key Responsibilities
  • Managing a portfolio of clients and overseeing departmental operations
  • Supervising and reviewing work of other staff
  • Coaching and developing junior team members
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with colleagues and clients
  • Preparation of accounts and tax returns
  • Bookkeeping and VAT return preparation
  • Providing general assistance, advice, and support to colleagues and clients
  • Attending training courses
  • Adhering to internal systems, processes, procedures, and performance standards
About You
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English at Grade C / 4 or above
  • 3 A Levels (or equivalent) at Grade C or above
  • AAT/ATT qualification (or equivalent)
  • ACCA/ACA/CTA qualification (or equivalent/QBE), or currently working towards it
  • Experience working in a UK accounting practice
  • Proven track record in client or team management, or ready to step up from a senior/assistant role
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Familiarity with accounting software
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage pressure
