We're looking for an experienced HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or HGV Fitter to join a professional and busy commercial vehicle workshop in Sheffield. This is a great opportunity to work with up-to-date tools and equipment, supporting a skilled team and maintaining a high standard of vehicle safety and compliance.Key Responsibilities of an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter
  • Service, maintain, and repair HGVs to DVSA and manufacturer standards
  • Carry out diagnostics and fault-finding using specialist equipment
  • Complete pre-MOT inspections and general compliance checks
  • Replace or repair key components such as brakes, clutches, and transmissions
  • Maintain accurate job cards and service records
  • Adhere to workshop health and safety policies
  • Work efficiently as part of a team and on your own
Skills and Qualifications for an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV FitterEssential
  • Level 3 NVQ, VCQ, or SVQ in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
  • Previous experience in a busy HGV workshop environment
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Solid understanding of HGV systems including hydraulics and pneumatics
Desirable
  • HGV Class 1 or Class 2 licence
  • Experience with electronic diagnostic systems
  • Flexible and proactive work attitude
