An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Solicitor to join the Infrastructure & Construction team in the Derby office. The role offers the chance to work on high-value, complex matters as part of a collaborative, award-winning department.Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting partners and senior lawyers with a broad range of Infrastructure & Construction work
- Managing your own caseload with appropriate supervision
- Providing high-quality legal advice to clients in a timely and commercially sound manner
- Drafting, negotiating, and reviewing contracts and documentation
- Engaging in business development activities, supported by senior team members
- Building and maintaining strong, professional relationships with clients and third parties
- Meeting individual and team billing targets and contributing to wider team success
- Assisting with mentoring or supporting junior colleagues where appropriate
The ideal candidate will be a qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with experience in Infrastructure and/or Construction law and a proactive, commercial mindset.You will have:
- Qualification as a Solicitor or CILEX with relevant construction/infrastructure experience
- A solid grounding in both contentious and non-contentious matters (or strong knowledge in either)
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
- The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work under pressure
- A collaborative and professional approach, with a desire to grow your legal career
- Confidence in developing client relationships and working with a range of stakeholders
- A positive attitude, keen eye for detail, and the drive to make an impact
