- Assist in the implementation and monitoring of the site's Food Safety and Quality Management System (FSQMS).
- Carry out routine quality checks, including product, temperature, hygiene and traceability verifications.
- Help prepare for and support external audits (typically BRCGS and regulatory inspections).
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for all technical activities.
- Collect product and environmental samples for testing (microbiological, shelf-life, water, etc.).
- Support in the investigation of customer complaints and non-conformances, including root cause analysis.
- Participate in internal audits (GMP, hygiene, traceability) and corrective action tracking.
- Assist with training staff on induction, hygiene, food safety practices, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Monitor and update product specifications and supplier approvals as needed.
- Work closely with management and production staff to promote a food safety and quality culture on site.
- Background or qualification in Food Science, Food Safety, or a related discipline.
- Previous experience in a food production or technical management role (ideally meat or FMCG).
- A proactive, detail-oriented approach with the confidence to work on the factory floor.
- Understanding of BRCGS and food safety standards.
