This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with students who need additional support with behaviour, social skills, and emotional regulation, helping them to engage positively in their learning.About the Role of a Behavioural Support Assistant:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with identified behavioural or social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs
- Work alongside teaching staff, the SENCo, and pastoral team to implement personalised support strategies
- Help students build resilience, self-confidence, and positive relationships with peers and staff
- Support with de-escalation techniques and maintain a calm, nurturing environment
- Monitor student progress and contribute to behaviour support plans where needed
- Previous experience supporting young people with behavioural or SEMH needs (school, youth work, or similar settings)
- Patience, empathy, and strong relationship-building skills
- Confidence in using positive behaviour management strategies
- A calm, proactive, and flexible approach to challenges
- A genuine commitment to promoting inclusion and wellbeing in education
