Position: Behavioural Support Assistant (KS3 & KS4)Do you have a passion for supporting young people to overcome behavioural and emotional challenges in their education?A welcoming and inclusive alternative provision in Hull is seeking a dedicated Behavioural Support Assistant to join their team from September 2025. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with students who need additional support with behaviour, social skills, and emotional regulation, helping them to engage positively in their learning.About the Role of a Behavioural Support Assistant:
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with identified behavioural or social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs
  • Work alongside teaching staff, the SENCo, and pastoral team to implement personalised support strategies
  • Help students build resilience, self-confidence, and positive relationships with peers and staff
  • Support with de-escalation techniques and maintain a calm, nurturing environment
  • Monitor student progress and contribute to behaviour support plans where needed
What You'll Bring:
  • Previous experience supporting young people with behavioural or SEMH needs (school, youth work, or similar settings)
  • Patience, empathy, and strong relationship-building skills
  • Confidence in using positive behaviour management strategies
  • A calm, proactive, and flexible approach to challenges
