CLASS 1 DRIVER - DAYSShifts: START TIMES 03:00 - 06:30Pay Rate: £16.00 PER HOUR MONDAY TO FRIDAYPeople Solutions are currently recruiting for a Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in ASTON, WEST MIDLANDS. Day to Day Duties:Your duties as a Class 1 Driver will involve but not be limited to:
  • RDC or customer deliveries which may include handballing (working on curtain-side or tail lift vehicles)
  • Operating and driving various Class 1 vehicles in a safe and efficient manner to and from delivery locations
  • Performing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
  • Ensuring all cargo is loaded and secured properly
  • Adhering to traffic laws and regulations
  • Communicating effectively with dispatch and customers
  • Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management
  • Assisting with loading and unloading of cargo as needed
  • Completing any paperwork
Essential Skills:As a Class 1 Driver you will need to:
  • Hold a valid UK Category CE Licence
  • Have a minimum of 24 months experience driving CE vehicles
  • No more than six penalty points for minor infringements and no major endorsement codes
  • Have a valid UK CPC Card & UK Digi Card
  • Must be able to speak and read a good level of English
  • Punctuality and excellent time keeping skills
  • Have a good understanding of traffic laws and regulations
  • Effective communication skills
Desirable Experience:
  • Experience driving any commercial vehicles would be beneficial
  • Previous experience with multi drop deliveries will be beneficial
Training:
  • Paid Induction to be completed and ongoing support throughout
