About your next employerVANRATH are delighted to be partnering with a leading organisation based in Newry who are recruiting a Financial Accountant to strengthen their finance team. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, managing audits, and supporting ongoing financial planning and compliance processes. You'll also take the lead on improving systems and procedures to enhance efficiency and support wider business goals.This is a long-term interim position and is suitable for candidates who are fully qualified within their professional qualifications, with at least 2 years' experience within a financial accounting or reporting role.**Full job description available on request**About you
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
  • At least 2 years' recent experience in a financial accounting or reporting role
  • Strong background in preparing financial statements, managing reconciliations, and supporting audits
  • Experience working with finance systems and Microsoft Excel
  • Comfortable managing people or leading a small team
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Access to transport to travel to multiple sites if needed
What you'll do
  • Lead on the preparation of financial statements and support external audit requirements
  • Manage cash flow forecasting, reporting schedules, and compliance returns
  • Oversee or support areas such as fixed assets, reconciliations, and VAT
  • Identify opportunities to streamline finance processes and controls
  • Provide guidance and support to junior finance team members
