- Able to demonstrate an appropriate level of knowledge of mental health practice from previous experience
- Skills in effective risk assessment and risk management
- Experience in the delivery of evidence based step 2 interventions
- Evidence of working in the local community
- Experience of delivering training and developing others
- Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner qualification OR Experienced and Qualified Graduate Mental Health Worker with relevant experiences and competencies as required
- Training in nursing, social work, occupational therapy, counselling or within a psychological therapy.
- A qualification in provision of supervision
- Responding flexibly and appropriately to unforeseen circumstances
- Using clinical supervision and opportunities for personal development positively and effectively
- Competent assessments
- Basic IT, including use of email/internet
- Mental health/mental Illness
- Evidence based step-2 interventions
- Awareness of serious mental health presentations (psychosis, bi-polar)
- Effects of drug and alcohol use on mental health
- Ability to drive with access to own vehicle to travel independently, and willingness to travel between the 3 prisons and other locations throughout the organisation
- Regard for others and respect for individual rights of autonomy and confidentiality
