What happens when you combine technical leadership, operational influence, and commercial clarity – all under one roof?A fast-evolving, service-led insurance platform is looking for a Deputy Underwriting Director to help drive performance, strategy, and governance across its underwriting operations.You'll be joining a leadership team with deep Lloyd's and London Market experience – including a Director of Underwriting with a background at the very heart of syndicate oversight. That means the standard here is high.This isn't a policy-writing role. It's a chance to shape how underwriting is structured, measured, and improved across multiple clients and portfolios. You'll play a key role in refining frameworks, embedding controls, and supporting a smarter approach to underwriting delivery – all within a business that's investing in doing things properly. You'll have the autonomy to challenge how things are done, and the platform to drive real operational change – not just talk about it.This would suit someone with strong technical underwriting experience, ideally with exposure to performance, governance, or syndicate oversight. Someone who understands the commercial side of underwriting – but also knows how to build the scaffolding that supports it.You'll be:
  • Supporting the Director of Underwriting on strategy, frameworks, and execution
  • Working across teams to ensure underwriting performance is measurable, accountable, and consistent
  • Collaborating with clients, senior stakeholders, and internal leads to deliver best-in-class standards
  • Taking ownership of governance processes, controls, and improvement initiatives
  • Acting as a senior figure within a high-performing, growth-minded platform
