  • Following the domestic and international business news agenda and pitching stories in meetings.
  • Identifying potential contributors and booking guests to appear on programmes.
  • Writing presenter cues and briefs to the highest standards of accuracy, demonstrating in-depth research.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with figures from the business world.
  • This is a crucial role which requires fast, diligent work under pressure. It's an exciting job, working on two prestigious programmes, in a friendly, supportive, high-performing team.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCEESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
  • A proven ability to cut through jargon and tell complex stories in a way that is clear, engaging, and accessible to a broad audience.
  • Strong knowledge of business and economics, both in the UK and internationally, with a keen eye for the stories that matter.
  • A team player who is always willing to help colleagues out.
  • The confidence to pitch creative, distinctive treatments in editorial meetings and contribute fresh ideas.
  • Sharp editorial judgement: a strong instinct for what's needed from an interview, a nose for a news-line, and the ability to craft incisive, revealing questions.
  • A rigorous commitment to accuracy - always going back to the original sources, research, and data to ensure our journalism is of the highest standard.
