- Finance team of approximately 25, covering FP&A, procurement, settlements, and regulation

This is a commercially focused finance business partnering role with significant exposure to senior leadership. Reporting to the Senior FP&A Manager, you will lead on cost control, performance reporting, and strategic financial insight, while managing two direct reports.You'll play a key role in shaping the future of financial reporting, supporting system implementations, and driving process improvements. - Partner with senior stakeholders to support commercial decision-making
- Lead monthly management reporting and performance reviews
- Drive cost control and identify efficiency opportunities
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning
- Contribute to system and reporting improvements (e.g. Power BI, new finance system)
- Manage and develop two direct reports
- Handle sensitive areas such as bonus calculations and salary modelling
- Engage in project spend tracking and ad hoc strategic initiatives
This role requires a confident and commercially astute finance professional with strong management accounting experience and the ability to interpret and communicate financial data effectively. You'll need to be inquisitive, persistent, and comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders.
Mandatory:
- Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ICAS or equivalent) or finalist with strong experience
- Proven management accounting experience in a commercial environment
- Strong understanding of actuals, accruals, and performance reporting
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience managing or mentoring others
- High attention to detail and analytical mindset
- Proactive, curious, and solutions-focused approach
- Experience in a low-margin industry
- Exposure to Power BI or similar reporting tools
- Experience with finance system implementation or development
- Background in business partnering roles
This is a permanent, full-time role based in the wider Edinburgh area. The organisation operates a hybrid working model with an expectation of three days in the office and two from home, subject to business needs.
- Salary up to £55,000 (potential flexibility for the right candidate)
