ResponsibilitiesAs a Lean Engineer at Parker Meggitt, you’ll support the site in the attainment of world-class performance through the application of Lean tools to drive forward the lean enterprise culture, strategic goals across the division, and operational excellence in safety, quality, delivery cost and engagement, as well as simplification of business processes.Ansty Park is a state of the art manufacturing facility and this is an opportunity that would suit an individual that is looking to work in a rewarding, fast paced and team focused organisation.
  • Co-ordinating and supporting lean activities across the Ansty Park site and CVD manufacturing locations, involving the organising and executing of Kaizen events, reporting and presenting progress and outcomes
  • Introducing, embedding and growing the Parker Lean System across locations in the manufacturing operations and support functions
  • Leading key projects aligned to the site Strategy Deployment Annual Improvement Plans (SD-AIPs) to drive business process improvement and enhance Parker customer experience
  • Supporting the site Lean Manager in the training and development of Lean skills to personnel at all levels in the business
  • Coaching and developing staff in the correct application of the Parker Lean System tools and methods across the division
  • Facilitating Parker Problem Solving activities within the site Value Streams and non-manufacturing functions
  • Actively engaging with business functions to embed SBD as a business process ensuring that SBD activity is correctly focused and driven 8. As part of the SBD processes, lead / support projects on product simplification
  • Leading and promoting the Parker High Performance Culture
sualified to degree level in an engineering discipline * Practical application of lean tools and techniques (such as 5S, TPM, SMED, VSM, Std Work, pull systems, heijunka etc.) with experience of leading kaizen events in both manufacturing and enterprise environments
  • Green Belt level in Lean Sigma with at least 2 years hands on experience of demonstrated project delivery
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and persuade at all levels with key stakeholders
  • Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative either alone or part of a team, working to timescales and deadlines
  • Confident, patient, adaptable, diplomatic and assertive
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Operations background
Desirable
  • Experience within the aerospace or automotive industry would be advantageous
  • Solid background in operations
  • Previous experience of working with a multi-location, multi-culture team
