- Level 3 / Certificate in Anatomical Pathology Technology & Level 4 / Diploma in Anatomical Pathology Technology
- Substantial post qualification experience in line with above qualification timelines
- Membership of the Association of Anatomical Pathology Technologists
- Management/ leadership qualifications.
- Registered with the Academy for Healthcare Sciences or Science Council
- Health & Safety training
- Significant experience of Anatomical Pathology Technology, advanced autopsy technique, forensic pathology and CT PM's
- In depth knowledge of the Human Tissue Act (HTA) Code of Practice pertaining to the Mortuary sector
- Knowledge of COSHH
- Teaching, lecturing and mentoring experience
- Quality management, Document control & Audit experience
- Fine motor skills for routine and advanced techniques in anatomical pathology (dissection; evisceration; high risk post-mortem; reconstruction)
- Writing SOPs and training programmes
- Demonstrable competency in advanced technique, e.g. eye enucleation; spinal cord removal; exposure or removal of middle ears, pituitary glands, femurs
- Able to communicate sensitive information to distressed families of the deceased, including those with English as a second language
- Able to communicate effectively with colleagues, other staff and external agencies, e.g. Coroner's office, HM Constabulary
- Promote positive working relationships with wide range of professional groups
- Ability to participate in out of hours on call service
- To have the skills and ability to know when to escalate a situation regarding capacity
- Level 3 / Certificate in Anatomical Pathology Technology & Level 4 / Diploma in Anatomical Pathology Technology
