Lead the design phases (concept, outline, and detail) for Instrumentation Control Automation systems, adhering to international standards. Sound knowledge of ICA design (instrumentation, PLC and SCADA systems), motor control systems (MCC's), system architecture, fieldbus/communication networks, P&ID's, ATEX installation practice, functional safety, development of control specifications (URS/FDS), schedules and system requirements within process/industrial environment. Development of Design Basis, specifications, P & ID's, System/Network Architecture, Fieldbus/communication networks, Control philosophy, Functional Design Specifications, PLC/ICA Section General Arrangements, Wiring and Schematic Diagrams, I/O schedules, Loop Diagrams, Instrument schedules and datasheets. Review and provide constructive comment on various ICA documentation including, Control Philosophies, Functional Design Specifications, I/O schedules, instrument schedules, communications architecture drawings and MCC/RTU/PLC electrical schematics and General Arrangements, ensuring they satisfy plant design criteria and comply with asset standard requirements Participate and manage inspection, testing and commissioning stages relevant to ICA equipment and installations. Attend factory acceptance tests for panel, PLC/HMI application software and SCADA. Understanding of electrical infrastructure design and their integration with the ICA system, Ensuring contractors designs comply with the latest client specifications and other relevant industry specifications (WIMES, IET wiring regulations etc.) and legislations. Prepare and review of specifications, data sheets, drawings and technical documentation. Provide technical direction in project delivery, ensuring alignment with industry standards and client requirements including Managing technical client relationships and support project pursuits. Knowledge on current UK design standards, working practices and national guidance. Awareness of best practise and standards in cybersecurity for industrial automation and control systems. Mentor junior team members, fostering professional growth and effective task delegation. Engage in global activities, leading multi-disciplinary collaborative efforts and enhancing team capabilities. Degree in Electrical Engineering or other directly related degree Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status and membership of a professional institution such as IET, InstMC or CIWEM or working towards and nearing application. Significant experience and track record in technical delivery of process plant systems on complex water industry engineering projects preferably related to water and wastewater industry.
