Job Category: EngineeringJob Description:Job Overview:The role is for a Senior Civil Structural Engineer with strong knowledge of main design techniques and analysis methods in addition to detailed knowledge of the content and application of standards codes. Good experience of steel and concrete design in EPC projects with good understanding of constructability issue is required.Responsibilities:Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Perform detailed analyses and design as per design basis, project specifications, design codes and standards
  • Apply knowledge and skills to a wide range of standard and non-standard situations
  • Prepare clear and accurate detailed design calculations and analyses including design reports and procedures
  • Manage own time to meet agreed deadlines and budgets and develop plans for short-term work activities in own area
  • Clearly communicate and explain complex issues and work to establish understanding
  • Liase with All Engineering disciplines, Construction site/Fabrication Group, Safety Dept, Document Control, Procurement Group, Subcontractors and Vendors, and Customers
  • Has a good understanding of the other engineering departments
  • Initiates interface with other disciplines to obtain input for discipline designs
  • Provide engineering support as required
  • Perform engineering checks
  • Perform design verification through single discipline check and assists with inter-discipline checks (IDC)
  • Prepare MTO's of foundations and structures
  • Prepare specifications
  • Prepare subcontract documents
  • Review of vendor data
  • Prepare technical bid evaluations
  • Check designs for operational requirements, constructability and maintainability
  • Reply to site queries
  • Assist MOPEX offices on projects, if needed
  • Perform independently computer analyses of foundations and steel/concrete structures
  • Prepare details and layouts of foundations and structures
  • Prepare structural analyses and reports on calculations or performs specialist tasks
Qualifications:Essential Qualifications and Education:
  • Bachelor Degree or Master Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
  • 10-15 years in oil and gas with major contractor or consultant predominantly performing detail design
  • Preferably Registered Professional Engineer or member of professional engineering society as applicable
  • Is specialized in some design codes (EC, ACI/AISC/API, etc..)
  • Good knowledge of engineering standards and specifications
  • Good knowledge of engineering software (STAAD, Mat 3D, etc..)
  • Able to work independently
  • Good working knowledge of English, both oral and written
  • HSE and cost conscious
  • Good technical structural knowledge
  • Good organizer, motivator
  • Keen on improving effectiveness of the work
