Oxford (Office-based)Are you an experienced Risk professional looking for a new challenge in wealth and investment management? Our client, a highly regarded investment management business in Oxford, is looking for a Risk Manager to join their Compliance team and play a central role in shaping and strengthening the firm's risk framework.About the roleAs Risk Manager, you'll be responsible for embedding and maintaining a robust, enterprise-wide risk management framework. You'll act as an independent voice, supporting senior management and the Board with oversight, challenge, and insight to ensure the business operates within its risk appetite and regulatory obligations.This is a hands-on role, where you'll take ownership of risk reporting, oversee the ICARA process, and help build a strong risk culture across the organisation. You'll engage with colleagues at every level of the business, as well as external stakeholders such as auditors, consultants, and the FCA.Key responsibilities
- Maintain and develop the firm's Risk Management Framework and Risk Appetite Statement.
- Oversee all material risk categories, including market, credit, liquidity, conduct, operational, and cyber/IT.
- Monitor key risk indicators, escalate breaches, and produce regular reporting for senior committees and regulators.
- Lead scenario analysis and stress testing to support ICARA, capital planning, and business strategy.
- Provide challenge and support to first-line teams and ensure effective escalation of material risk events.
- Promote a strong risk culture through training, awareness, and support for senior leaders.
- Liaise with auditors, regulators, and other third parties on risk-related matters.
- Proven experience in risk management within financial services (ideally wealth or investment management).
- Strong knowledge of FCA regulation and conduct risk.
- Familiarity with capital adequacy and ICARA processes.
- Professional risk qualification
- Experience with CASS rules and operational resilience.
- Degree-level education or equivalent industry qualifications.
