School/Directorate: School of Biological SciencesApplications are invited for the position of 'Freddy Carboni Neuro-Oncology Non-Clinical Research fellow' in the Division of Neuroscience, at The University of Manchester. This 2-year post is generously funded through a donation by the Carboni Family.This fellowship offers a unique opportunity for a highly motivated non-clinical scientist to lead on research in the field of peripheral biomarkers in patients affected by low-grade and high-grade gliomas. Candidates are required to demonstrate a track record relevant to Neuro-Oncology research and to have previous research background in the field of peripheral biomarkers with experience covering pre-clinical models and translational and clinical projects.The post-holder will work closely with clinical teams and translational scientists andwill be integrated within the Neuro-Oncology research portfolio. They will be expected to lead innovative research in the field of peripheral biomarker discovery along with developing and strengthening collaborations at national and international levels.The successful candidate will join a division renowned for its excellence in neuroscience research, offering the opportunity to access to human tissue via the Manchester Brain Bank and leverage on established relationships with the Geoffrey Jefferson Brain Research Centre, the Manchester Centre for Cancer Research and teams within the Division of Cancer Sciences at The University of Manchester.What you will get in return:
