Known for their commitment to quality, safety, and integrity, they work in close collaboration with public and private sector clients to deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions - on time, within budget, and to exceptional standards.They have a strong forward order book for 2025 and beyond, with projects ranging from £100k to £10m in value, including multiple award-winning schemes.ABOUT THE ROLEDue to continued growth, our client is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join their civil engineering team based in Preston.In this role, you will:Analyse and interpret tender documents, including early appraisals of construction methods, programmes, and management requirements.Identify risks and opportunities within bids, incorporating them into submissions.Collaborate with design and delivery teams to develop effective delivery strategies.Challenge designs and methodologies to explore alternative construction solutions.Price civil engineering activities (earthworks, drainage, ducting, paving) from first principles.Prepare construction programmes and sequences (ASTA Powerproject experience desirable).Liaise with the supply chain, issue enquiries, and assess responses.Compile comprehensive net cost estimates, present them at adjudications, and submit tenders on time.Contribute to commercial discussions and review post-contract performance.REQUIREMENTSExperience with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 infrastructure main contractor, ideally pricing civil engineering projects (bridges, public realm, highways, utilities).Strong capability in estimating and pricing from first principles.Experience with Conquest and ASTA Powerproject (desirable).Excellent knowledge of pricing and quantification methods.Strong communication skills and ability to form effective working relationships under pressure.Experience leading a team (desirable).Proficient in IT, numeracy, MS Office, and estimating systems.Professional membership or qualification (RICS, CIOB, ICE, etc.) is desirable.REWARDS AND BENEFITSCompetitive salaryCompany car or car allowance (with hybrid/electric vehicle policy)Enhanced annual leave starting at 26 days + bank holidays, increasing with servicePension scheme with 6.5% employer contributionOptional BUPA health cover (including family cover)Company sick pay schemeGroup income protection (50% salary cover for 3 years for long-term illness)Enhanced paid family leaveHybrid working arrangementsLearning and development opportunitiesOnsite gym at head officeCompany doctor and 24/7 virtual GP accessEmployee Assistance ProgrammeMental health support via NHS-approved Thrive appSavings scheme and recognition awardsComprehensive health and wellbeing strategy
