Full time: 35 hours per weekFixed term contract: 13 monthsThe Opportunity:Student Advisers provide a first contact point for students within their School/Deanery, providing guidance and support, including additional assistance where needed, to those navigating the University support systems. Working closely with academic and professional services teams, the role will enable students to achieve their potential, as well as ensure parity of experience for all students.Your skills and attributes for success:
  • HNC/HND or equivalent level qualifications plus relevant work experience, or broad experience, acquired through a combination of job related training and considerable on-the-job experience, demonstrating development through involvement in progressively more demanding relevant work/roles
  • Knowledge of and sensitivity to the complex areas of student wellbeing and support
  • Experience of working independently and ability to prioritise workloads in the face of conflicting demands
  • Excellent interpersonal skills - remaining calm under pressure, being able to provide a safe and welcoming space for students in distress
  • Constructive team player, demonstrating ability to work collaboratively
£34,610 to £39,906 per annum (Grade 6)
