Salary: £90 – £120 per day (depending on experience)About the Role:
A welcoming school in Winslow is seeking a Learning Support Assistant with a specialism in Speech and Language support. You will work closely with pupils who have communication difficulties, helping them to develop language skills and access learning across the curriculum.Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils with speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN).
- Deliver targeted interventions designed by Speech and Language Therapists.
- Encourage use of strategies such as visuals, repetition, and Makaton.
- Assist teachers in adapting classroom communication.
- Track and record pupils’ progress in speech and language development.
- Experience supporting children with speech and language needs.
- Knowledge of strategies such as Makaton, Colourful Semantics, or ELKLAN training (desirable).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patient, supportive, and creative approach.
- Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply.
- Strong links with external specialists and therapists.
- Ongoing CPD and training in communication support.
