Science Technician – Inspiring Practical Learning
Contract: Permanent | Start Date: September 2025
Location: West London
Salary: Competitive, based on experienceAre you passionate about science and supporting hands-on learning in the classroom? We are seeking a Science Technician to play a vital role in supporting the delivery of engaging and effective science lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.Working closely with teaching staff, you'll be at the heart of the practical side of the curriculum – preparing, setting up, and demonstrating experiments that bring science to life for students of all abilities.Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and safely manage materials, equipment, and chemicals for science lessons, in accordance with health and safety regulations.
  • Support the planning and delivery of practical experiments across KS3 and KS4.
  • Assist teachers in creating engaging, inquiry-led science lessons and support students during practical work.
  • Provide targeted support to individual students or small groups, helping them stay on track and meet learning objectives.
  • Contribute to project-based learning, adapting experiments to suit different learning styles and needs.
  • Participate actively in team meetings, sharing strategies and collaborating with teachers and Learning Support Assistants (LSAs).
What We're Looking For:
  • A strong background in practical science, with solid knowledge across all three disciplines: Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
  • Confidence in handling chemicals, glassware, and laboratory equipment safely and responsibly.
  • Experience in setting up and demonstrating experiments in line with curriculum requirements.
  • An interest in supporting inclusive education and differentiated learning.
  • A proactive, organised, and adaptable approach to working in a dynamic school environment.
