Financial Controller - 6 Month Contract - £450 - £500 Per day (Umbrella Company) - London - (Remote)FryerMiles are delighted to be working with a leading PE backed tech company to assist with their recruitment of a Financial Controller to join their team based in London initially on a 6-month contract.The role will work closely with the CFO to support with the running of the finance teams, whilst the business goes through this rapid growth phaseResponsibilities include but limited to:
  • Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
  • Provide mentorship and embed financial discipline across multiple business ventures.
Financial Control
  • Deliver accurate and timely balance sheet reconciliations and reporting.
  • Manage entity lifecycle processes (incorporations, set-ups, closures).
  • Lead statutory accounts preparation and audits in compliance with UK GAAP/IFRS.
  • Oversee UK tax compliance (corporation tax, VAT, PAYE/NIC).
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
  • Lead periodic portfolio valuations and group budget exercises.
  • Provide forward-looking analysis to support strategic decision-making and investor communications.
Reporting & Advisory
  • Develop fund-like accounting metrics to enhance investor reporting.
  • Prepare quarterly investor-style reports with transparency and accuracy.
  • Partner with venture leaders, supporting growth with sound financial insight and advice.
Treasury & Assets
  • Oversee UK and group treasury operations, ensuring effective liquidity management and cash forecasting.
  • Manage digital assets securely with strong controls, reconciliations, and accounting practices.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA), ideally trained in a UK Top 10 firm or with strong industry experience.
  • Proven track record as a Financial Controller or senior finance leader within a multi-entity UK group.
  • Strong knowledge of UK GAAP/IFRS, statutory accounts, and audit processes.
  • Experience with UK tax compliance (corporation tax, VAT, PAYE/NIC).
  • Exposure to crypto/digital asset accounting and treasury is advantageous.
  • Strong FP&A and investor-style reporting experience.
  • Advanced technical skills in accounting systems, reporting tools, and financial modelling.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage senior stakeholders and investors.
