HGV Technician Needed in Stockport
  • Location: Stockport
  • Working Hours: Permanent Night Shift - 4 on / 4 off, 19:00 - 07:00
  • Salary: up to £50,000 per annum + Overtime
Our client, a well-established and reputable business within the commercial sector, is looking for, ideally, a Level 3 qualified HGV Technician to join their vehicle maintenance team. However, they will also consider candidates with Light Vehicle Maintenance qualifications looking to move into the commercial industry.This is a fantastic opportunity to join a stable company that truly values its employees, offers long-term security, and promotes a strong culture of safety, development, and work-life balance.Key Responsibilities for the HGV Technician:
  • Maintain and repair HGVs to VOSA and company standards
  • Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults
  • Carry out scheduled inspections and MOT preparations
  • Ensure vehicle availability in line with delivery schedules
  • Promote and uphold health and safety practices (Zero Harm target)
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and audit-ready workspace
  • Support continuous improvement within the Vehicle Maintenance Unit (VMU)
  • Work flexibly across various VMU tasks as required
Requirements for a HGV Technician:
  • Strong experience in LGV fleet maintenance operations
  • City & Guilds LGV qualifications or equivalent in LGV Vehicle Crafts
  • Excellent planning, organisational, and teamwork skills
  • A proactive and positive attitude, with a focus on continuous improvement
  • An LGV C+E licence is desirable but not essential
