This is a fantastic opportunity to build a meaningful connection and make a lasting impact on a child’s educational journey.Your MissionAs a 1:1 Teaching Assistant (TA), you’ll work closely with a specific student, offering consistent and personalised support throughout the school day. You’ll help them stay engaged, build confidence, and achieve their learning goals in a nurturing environment.About the School:This is a well-established school located in Belper. Staff work collaboratively to create a nurturing environment where students are encouraged to develop independence and confidence.What You'll Be Doing as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant
  • Provide one-to-one support to a pupil, helping them access the curriculum.
  • Assist with classroom activities and ensure the student remains focused and involved.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher to adapt learning materials.
  • Monitor and report on the pupil’s progress and engagement.
  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and encouraging learning space.
  • Support the pupil during transitions and break times as needed.
What You Bring to the Table as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant
  • Experience working with children in a school setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, caring, and adaptable approach.
  • Ability to build trust and rapport with individual pupils.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning).
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Have an up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one)
