📅 Start Date: Immediate / ASAPJoin one of the UK's leading infrastructure providers as a Construction Manager / Experienced Site Manager within our Power T&D team. Based in Ipswich, this key role supports the delivery of the BTNO Project, focusing on the planning and execution of Overhead Line (OHL) construction activities.You'll take the lead in managing and delivering site operations, ensuring safety, environmental and quality compliance while supporting our broader project delivery goals.🔧 Key Responsibilities:Plan, manage and deliver all site-based OHL construction activities to time, budget and quality standardsEnsure safe and sustainable delivery, aligning with project programme and client expectationsDrive high standards in HSEQ performance across the work areaEnsure appropriate resources, systems, and structures are in place for effective construction deliveryFoster a high-performing team culture, promoting collaboration and developmentManage effective communication and coordination with project stakeholdersMonitor construction progress, manage risks, and implement continuous improvementProvide leadership and direction to site teams and subcontractors, inspiring excellenceBalance customer needs, project constraints and business objectives (time, cost, quality, scope, risk)What you'll be doing
- Manage Site Managers / Project Engineers to ensure that all work undertaken satisfies all required safety and technical policies and procedures
- Plan the work and oversee the requirements for necessary materials, plant and equipment
- Oversee the requirements for resource and then manage staff for the project
- Manage the construction site(s) on a day-to-day basis, including supervising the labour force, monitoring subcontractors, checking materials, inspecting work and overseeing quality control
- Ensure that all work is carried out according to NRSWA and be responsible for effective liaison and collaboration with Highways Authorities, Local Authorities and other Utilities providers etc.
- Ensure the project is delivered on time and on budget by setting benchmarks, agreeing budgets and monitoring progress
- Check design documents
- Responsible for a working environment which ensures the achievement of all safety and environment legislation, engineering and customer standards.
- Full Clean UK Driving Licence
- Previous experience working on OHL National Grid Projects is desirable
