To provide a complete administration service for private patients including outpatient and reception dutiesTo organise own workload and work closely with the Band 4 Medical PATo work within the Trust values and core standards to maintain an excellent patient experience at all times.The post holder will be required to work flexibly across the private patient services.The post holder is required to maintain the Trust's values and core standards and to lead by example.Main duties of the jobDeal with day-to-day correspondence, initiating appropriate responses to provide patients, staff and other parties with required information in a friendly and professional manner.Receive telephone calls, accepting messages on behalf of members of the specialty team, taking appropriate action where necessary.Liaise with appropriate personnel in the team to gather and co-ordinate patient information so this is accessible in a timely manner.Type all forms of clinical correspondence as dictated by clinical staff, by use of audio or copy typing. Produce copies for appropriate agencies, filing copies in correct sequence, ensuring follow-up arrangements are in place, listing outstanding investigations on the hospital database system.Process urgent referrals and arrange appropriate outpatient appointments.Participate in team and Trust meetings as requested.About usAt Somerset NHS Foundation Trust, we're committed to supporting our employees with a range of benefits designed to enhance your professional and personal life.   • AMSPAR or British Medical Secretary Diploma (includes medical terminology) or equivalent knowledge

  • Knowledge of medical terminology

  • Previous Private Patient or NHS administration experience (2 years minimum)
  • Audio typing/word processing
