This is a unique opportunity to join a fast-growing scale-up at a crucial phase of growth and help change an industry for the better.The Role:We're seeking a talented Technology Vendor Manager in a newly created position within Motorway’s IT management team! You'll play a pivotal role in optimising the value we gain from our technology partnerships, ensuring Motorway has the correct vendors to meet it’s existing and future requirements.In this role, you'll leverage your communication skills to build strong, collaborative relationships with both business senior management and our technology vendors. You'll be a skilled negotiator, confidently influencing stakeholders and vendors to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.You'll possess a proven track record of implementing best practices for IT procurement. A strong understanding of financial metrics will be essential, and you'll use this knowledge to manage budgets, assess vendor proposals and identify potential financial risks. Additionally, your keen eye for detail will be essential when reviewing contracts, allowing you to identify key terms and potential risks.What you’ll be doing:
  • Working within the IT management team, you will collaborate with organisational leaders to understand business needs and identify where and how we can leverage technology partners to address them.
  • You will develop and implement streamlined procurement processes for technology expenditure, ensuring consistent management of both new and renewal spending.
  • You'll be responsible for taking a proactive approach to managing vendor performance and mitigating potential risks. This means you'll be constantly on the lookout for any concerns in performance, service delivery, or spending that could potentially impact our operations.
  • You’ll act as the primary liaison between Motorway and its technology vendors, cultivating strong relationships both internally and externally. In this role you will provide support across a range of engagements, ensuring frictionless collaboration and that expected outcomes are met.
  • In collaboration with internal stakeholders, you'll advocate innovation in Motorway's technology ecosystem. Using close relationships with vendors and staying up to date with industry trends, you'll proactively identify opportunities for additional services or products for Motorway to leverage.
RequirementsWhat you’ll have:
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Technical proficiency in common IT services, software and security concepts
  • A solid understanding of financial metrics to navigate budgets and assess the financial viability of vendor solutions
  • Experience in evaluating cloud vendor solutions through cost-benefit analysis and value assessments
  • Experience in developing and implementing IT procurement best practices, demonstrating effective execution and adherence
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the confidence to engage in negotiations and constructive dialogue with stakeholders and vendors
  • Solid understanding of legal principles with the ability to review contracts for key terms and identify potential risks, ensuring thorough due diligence.
