Automotive Component Test Engineer£41,000 depending on experienceBenefits: Generous holiday allowance, Contributory pension scheme, Life Cover, healthcare cashback plans + more available!Based on site in Leyland, Preston40 hours a week (Mon - Fri, 08.00 - 16.30 or 08.30 - 17.00)We’re looking for an Automotive Component Test Engineer to join a leading Automotive Test facility. The successful Test Engineer will join a Company offering customisable vehicle testing solutions, which include; proving grounds and laboratories for vehicle engineering and homologation for transport, agricultural and defence industries (amongst others!)What would the Automotive Component Test Engineer do?Working with Engineers, Senior Engineers, and Principal Engineers to design test and timing plans your core focus will be;
  • Liaising with the customer to ensure the project is delivered on time and to their expectations
  • Working with Technicians to deliver the project
  • Overseeing preparation, equipment installation, instrumentation, testing
  • Formulating and validating test results into data packs and test reports.
  • Support a culture of continuous improvement to help drive improvements in safety and security
  • Customer service and technical excellence.
What skills and experience will the Automotive Component Test Engineer need?
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience in relevant engineering discipline
  • Vibration testing using shaker systems
  • Component rig testing
  • Instrumentation and data acquisition (preferred)
  • Knowledge of sensor types and applications (preferred)
  • Use of CAD systems (preferred)
  • Technical report writing
  • Flexibility to travel as and when required
  • Full UK driving licence & own transport
  • Willing to undergo a Criminal Disclosure check
