We're looking for an experienced, BABCP accredited CBT Therapist to join our welcoming and dynamic CAMHS team in West Sussex. You should have a strong background in working therapeutically with children, young people and families, and demonstrable experience of providing supervision within CAMHS or CYP services. It would be desirable for candidates to have a CBT supervision training qualification, and some experience of teaching, training and leadership.Main duties of the jobAs a senior member of the West Sussex CAMHS team, you would participate in the core multi-disciplinary assessment and intervention work of the team and engage in multi-agency liaison work as necessary. You would also be required to participate in the supervision, training and the overall governance requirements of SPFT CAMHS.While holding a small clinical caseload, you will provide support and supervision to a growing CBT workforce and contribute to our CBT leadership team across the wider Sussex CAMHS service, regarding innovative ways of developing our CBT offer. In particular, this role would support new CBT trainees in placement while they undertake their training at Kings College London. You would also help support our team with the implementation of new treatment pathways, so you would make good use of any specialist interests in working with OCD, PTSD, anxiety and depression.You'd part of a very busy but lively and welcoming CAMHS team, working alongside psychiatrists, nurses, OTs, social workers, psychologists and systemic, art and child psychotherapists. We offer a wide range of individual, group and systemic interventions, and is involved in a number of innovative evaluation and research projects and service developments. Knowledge/ExperienceEssential
  • Substantial post-qualification/accreditation experience of specialist psychological therapy (assessment, formulation and treatment), as specified in the Appendix, maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems, verbal abuse and the threat of physical abuse
  • A high level of competence in applying a psychological therapy to complex difficulties appropriate for this therapy with the client group served by the post, and a proven track record of delivering positive outcomes in this therapy
  • Experience of offering teaching, training and supervision within a demanding organisational contex
  • A clear and theoretically informed approach to supervision
  • Experience of representing psychological therapy within the context of multi-disciplinary care within a complex organisational context.
  • Significant experience of working with the particular client group served by the team/service
  • Knowledge of guidance and legislation in relation to the client group
  • A high-level specialist knowledge of the theory and practice of specialist psychological therapy as specified in the appendix, as applied to the client group using this service
  • Experience of the application of psychological therapy in different cultural contexts and experience of working within a multicultural framework
  • Evidence of continuing professional development as required by the professional registration/accrediting body specified in the appendix.
