Our client is a fantastic, boutique sustainability consultancy dedicated to creating a more environmentally responsible built environment and are looking to bring on board a Senior-Principal Sustainability Consultant. They specialise in providing sustainable design and consulting services to clients in various sectors, ranging from architecture and construction to government and commercial projects. Our team is committed to pushing the boundaries of sustainability and environmental stewardship in the built environment.As a Senior-Principal Sustainability Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in advancing sustainable practices and principles in the built environment. This role requires expertise in one or more of the following specialisms: Energy Modelling & Building Physics, BREEAM & Green Building Certifications, or LCAs & Embodied Carbon. The successful candidate will be client-facing, working closely with architects and the Greater London Authority (GLA) during the planning process. They will be responsible for leading projects from start to finish, ensuring sustainability goals are met or exceeded.Key Responsibilities:
  • Specialized Expertise: Utilise your expertise in one of the following specialisms to guide and implement sustainable design strategies in projects:
  • Energy Modelling & Building Physics
  • BREEAM & Green Building Certifications
  • LCAs & Embodied Carbon
  • Client Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, working closely to understand their sustainability goals, and providing tailored consulting services to meet their objectives.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate sustainability principles into project designs and plans during the planning and design phases.
  • Project Leadership: Take ownership of projects, from inception to completion, ensuring that sustainability initiatives are integrated seamlessly and effectively. Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with local and national sustainability regulations, ensuring that projects adhere to applicable standards and certifications.
  • Data Analysis: Conduct comprehensive analysis, assessments, and evaluations related to sustainability metrics, energy efficiency, and environmental impact.
  • Consultancy: Provide consultative services and strategies for optimising sustainability, energy efficiency, and environmental performance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Client Education: Educate clients and project teams about sustainable design principles, benefits, and best practices.
  • Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, reports, and compliance records.
Qualifications:
  • * Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Sustainability, Environmental Science, Engineering, Architecture).
  • * Proven experience in one or more of the specified specialisms (Energy Modelling & Building Physics, BREEAM & Green Building Certifications, LCAs & Embodied Carbon).
  • * Previous experience in sustainability consulting or a related role, with a demonstrated track record of successful project management.
  • * Strong knowledge of sustainability standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • * Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
  • * Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • * Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • * Proficiency in sustainability software and tools.
  • * Relevant certifications (e.g., BREEAM AP, BREEAM Assessor) preferred.
