Are you an experienced CNC setter looking to take the next step in your career? This hybrid role offers the chance to continue hands-on setting while also developing programming and machine optimisation skills. Ideal for someone with a strong background in structural steel fabrication.
What you'll do:
- Set up, operate, and maintain CNC steel processing machines (Ficep, Kaltenbach, Peddinghaus, and Voortman)
- Support programming, make adjustments, and optimise machine outputs for efficiency and quality
- Read and interpret CAD files, DSTV data, and engineering drawings to ensure accurate setups
- Troubleshoot issues on the shop floor and contribute to workflow improvements
- Maintain programme libraries, documentation, and revision control
- Proven experience as a CNC setter in structural steel fabrication
- Hands-on knowledge of Ficep, Kaltenbach, or Peddinghaus machinery; Voortman experience is a plus
- Ready to step into programming and optimisation responsibilities
- Strong understanding of steel profiles, materials, and fabrication processes
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and precision
- £35-£40k per year, depending on experience
