SEN Teaching AssistantLocation: Coventry (CV2)Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30am to 3:30pm (term time only)Weekly Salary: £445 to £475Contract: Temporary (opportunities to go perm)Are you looking for a new challenge?Are you a recent Psychology Graduate?Teaching Personnel is looking for full-time Teaching Assistants to join a specialist primary SEN school in Coventry. The school is seeking resilient and dedicated individuals who can effectively support pupils with challenging behaviour and complex needs. The school provides education for children aged 4 to 11 with diagnoses including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD). This role is particularly well-suited to recent psychology graduates who are looking to gain hands-on experience in the field of special educational needs.Responsibilities
  • Supporting the class teacher in the delivery of lessons
  • Providing 1:1 support to individuals who need additional help
  • Organising and collecting resources for the lesson
  • Being a positive role model to inspire and encourage the child to make positive life choices
  • Use enthusiasm to encourage children to become involved in lessons
Requirements:
  • Experience with Special Educational Needs (desirable)
  • Experience working with children
  • Experience with challenging behaviour
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Willing to complete a DBS or have a DBS which is already on the update service
  • Have a passion for education.
  • Positive ‘can do’ attitude
  • Adaptable and versatile
  • Eager to help vulnerable and young people to live happy fulfilling lives
