
Welding Engineer - Submarines

- Competent in identifying, developing, qualifying and justifying welding techniques in accordance with the relevant design code, ideally within a relevant industry.
- Knowledge and demonstrated experience of working to the requirements of boiler and pressure vessel design and manufacturing standards.
- Demonstrates that product and process safety is of paramount importance assuring products meet all regulatory, code, design and manufacturing and Quality Assurance requirements and complying with all applicable legislation and codes of professional conduct.
- Proven ability to define, plan, monitor and control projects, programmes and work packages, ensuring the work is delivered to cost, quality and schedule. As well as communicating complex technical information in a simple and effective way, whilst creating methods of manufacture ensuring delivery of manufacturing capability and business requirements and meeting design intent.
- Ability to integrate well within a large organisation that operates in a high-pressure environment. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are desirable.
- Professional welding qualifications are highly beneficial (e.g. International Institute of Welding (IIW) / European Welding Federation (EWF) Welding Engineer or Technologist status, IEng or CEng status, MSc Welding Engineering)
- Professionally Qualified Engineer (e.g. UK minimum HND/foundation degree or other national equivalent) in an engineering discipline.
