Visit our website to learn more.Job Summary:We are seeking a talented and motivated Head of Manufacturing Engineering to join our dynamic team.Key Responsibilities:The Head of Manufacturing Engineering will be responsible for providing vision, strategic leadership and management of key functions across Global Supply, including Program Management, Quality & Compliance, and Lean in order to ensure excellence in delivery of our strategic objectives and initiatives. The role is responsible for developing and delivering supply chain projects, ensuring smooth integration of new product introductions (NPI) into manufacturing, and managing capability and capacity across the organisation.This role will have full responsibility for the Global Excellence in Operations budget and lead on any key strategic, global supply projects, as required, including mergers & acquisitions and new greenfield sites globally, as appropriate. In addition, the Head of Manufacturing Excellence will be a leader capable of operating strategically across multi-functional areas and geographic locations - working closely with the Operations & Supply Director.Between the most essential duties, this position will be in charge of: reviewing the operations strategy and budgets for each of the regions and, in collaboration with the operations’ teams, implementing production systems and key improvement initiatives (e.g., benchmarking, automation and lean) and monitoring their execution; identifying and implementing opportunities to make step-changes in operational processes, utilising tools such as internal benchmarking, operational metrics, lean, six sigma, value stream mapping etc. supporting the standardisation of processes throughout the division and leading multi-site initiatives; leading on key operational decisions that have implications, such as capital investment, strategic buy, hire, outsource and lease decisions.Other key accountabilities include:Developing and Delivering Supply Projects:Lead and manage significant projects such as manufacturing footprint optimisation or significant investment initiativesEnsure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.Coordinate with cross-functional teams to identify impacts and appropriate actions to ensure change is delivered successfully and achieve project objectives.Partnering to deliver NPI Projects:Collaborate with the Strategic Business Development (SBD) team to ensure a smooth landing of NPI projects in the factories.Facilitate communication between SBD and manufacturing teams to align on project goals and timelines.Monitor and report on the progress of NPI projects.Managing Capability and CapacityOversee capability and capacity planning across WMFTS and SpiraxIdentify and address bottlenecks in the supply chain to optimise performance.Implement strategies to enhance supply chain efficiency and resilience.Lean and CIConduct regular Kaizen events to identify and eliminate inefficiencies in processes and workflows.Implement visual management tools to enhance transparency and track progress effectively.Deliver the CI roadmap as per the budget.Skills/Experience:
  • Experience of successfully driving business and supply chain excellence in complex manufacturing environments
  • Relevant skills & experience including building excellence in quality & compliance, supply chain strategy and best practice process, lean manufacturing
  • Strong project and change management skills with a proven track record of delivering complex projects and commercial results
  • Experience of working within group functions and affecting change across all levels and geographies
  • Experience of leading and managing strategic projects within time, cost and quality
  • Can take complex subjects and/or data and appropriately simplify to increase effectiveness
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • University Degree in engineering or technical field or similar, and/or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to travel internationally
