How you'll make a difference:As Site Supervisor, you will manage the day-day operations of Little Stoke and Thornbury household waste recycling centres, making sure that staff and resources are efficiently deployed, processes and compliance are met and that a high level of service is provided to customers. What you will be doing:
  • Daily, you will be responsible for supervising the daily running of site operations ensuring full compliance on sites.
  • You will ensure the efficient deployment of staff and resources, working closely with members of your team to ensure a high level of service is provided to customers.
  • Supervising and managing personnel and mobile plant, you will manage quality monitoring and embed process to ensure continual improvement and delivery.
  • Managing staff absence, leave process and staff development within the team, you will also collate and manage staff working hours for payroll purposes.
What we need from you:
  • You must hold a relevant waste transfer qualification such as COTC
  • It is essential that you have a thorough knowledge of health and safety legislation relevant to waste management, COSHH and RIDDOR and environmental permits and have experience of incident reporting and investigations.
  • We require you to have experience in daily site operations, including site cleanliness, signage, and traffic flow with a proven ability to identify operational issues and implement effective solutions as per best practice.
  • It is essential that you have relevant experience of managing a team within waste operations with experience of managing rotas, performance, and staff training and have the ability to lead and motivate a team, giving advice and guidance on the correct course of action.
  • We require you to be able to communicate confidently to people of at all levels, showing excellent and interpersonal skills, and be able to resolve conflict and manage difficult situations calmly.
What you need to know:
  • You will be working 5 days per week Monday – Friday
